Aviation nose art has a great history for pilots and crews. In a way it takes mere aluminum, nuts, and bolts and personifies it. Man and his machine.

When I saw this nose art, I just had to snap a picture.

Here's an interesting shot of a U-2S cockpit. Notice the pilot is in a full pressure suit? When you fly aboove 50,000 feet, those suits are mandatory. I love the new cockpit they put in these planes.

The C-130 is like a Swiss Army knife. It can do so many things and perform an amazing array of missions.

The EC-130J Commando Solo is all about PSYOPS with its ability to broadcast both radio and color TV. The primary mission is orbit somewhere and get the message out. Gotta be a little boring for the pilots eh?

I wonder if it does ESPN?

F-14B Tomcat Section Takeoff 1680 x 1050 Widescreen Wallpaper

Here are two sweet looking F-14s doing a section takeoff. These are pretty nice looking aircraft but I can tell you a few stories about some of the F-14's I used to see. Let's just say that the Navy isn't too concerned about washing their jets while out at sea. Totally different worlds (Air Force vs Navy).

The Three Soldiers Vietnam Memorial Widescreen Wallpaper 1680 x 1050

For those of you that live in the USA or travel here, Washington DC is a great place to visit. When you visit the National Mall (it's a National Park area), you'll find tributes to famous Americans and wars Americans were involved in.

I took this picture of the Three Soldiers in May, 2007. The Vietnam Memorial wall is just off in the distance to the left. Memorials are meant to cause a person to reflect and I think the designer accomplished his goal.

Here's a great shot of Major Nicole Malachowski, pilot of Thunderbird #3. She has the honor of being the first female Thunderbird pilot in their 52 year history. Not bad...
