I suppose it doesn't get much better than to be flying early morning and catching a beautiful sunrise. The only way to improve upon it is to be in an F-16... But hey, somebody has to fly cargo. :)

Great shot here of a CH-53 catching fuel from a C-130. You can see the drogue chute middle left. Check out the airspeed -- it says 90 knots. Even with full flaps, that's got to be real close to the C-130's stall speed.

C-130H Hercules Taxi to Takeoff 1680 x 1050 Widescreen Wallpaper

It's the workhorse of the USAF and even worse than flying Southwest Airlines. If you've ever flown in one, you know it's about as no-frills as you can get (and you're lucky to not freeze to death flying in the cargo area). I should also mention it's slower than maple syrup, but it gets the job done...

Being a pilot, some of my favorite desktop wallpapers are cockpit shots while flying. This is a shot of one of the oldest C-130s flying just before it was retired (I think this is somewhere in Iraq).
