It has been a long time... but here's another wallpaper of the Blue Angels in a diamond formation. They perform approximately 30 maneuvers during the aerial demonstration lasting over an hour.
Breathtaking in-flight shot of an F-16C pilot above the clouds. This is one of my favorites and my current desktop wallpaper.
Here's a beautiful shot of a battle weary Marine F-18C Hornet. Notice the color stripes on the missiles and bombs. Yellow or Black mean live weapons (as opposed to blue stripes meaning dummy or inert).
Come along for a ride in the backseat of an F-15D Eagle while catching some gas from a KC-135. I love pictures that put you right in the action. Only wish I was there for the ride.
Check out this great shot of an F-16C in arctic camo paint scheme. From what I read this special paint is for a Red Flag exercise up in Alaska.
Here's an excellent shot of an F/A-18F Super Hornet taking off from a carrier. Framing the focus on the ground crewman makes the shot much more powerful.
It's December and nearing Christmas so it's time for a nice Winter Wonderland widescreen wallpaper. Check out the Aurora Borealis (sometimes called "Northern Lights").
The AH-64 Apache is one of the most feared gunships ever designed. It's also one of the most maneuverable. Here is a great sunset shot that makes a an excellent widescreen desktop background!
Being a pilot, some of my favorite desktop wallpapers are cockpit shots while flying. This is a shot of one of the oldest C-130s flying just before it was retired (I think this is somewhere in Iraq). 
Neat shot here of an E-3 AWACS (Modified Boeing 707) refueling. The AWACS is an amazing plane with a rotating dome that can see out to 250+ miles.
The P-51D Mustang is "the" fighter of World War II. I love seeing it at airshows and love hearing that 12 cylinder supercharged engine. I have a dream to fly one.
Aviation nose art has a great history for pilots and crews. In a way it takes mere aluminum, nuts, and bolts and personifies it. Man and his machine.
Here's an interesting shot of a U-2S cockpit. Notice the pilot is in a full pressure suit? When you fly aboove 50,000 feet, those suits are mandatory. I love the new cockpit they put in these planes.
The C-130 is like a Swiss Army knife. It can do so many things and perform an amazing array of missions.
Here are two sweet looking F-14s doing a section takeoff. These are pretty nice looking aircraft but I can tell you a few stories about some of the F-14's I used to see. Let's just say that the Navy isn't too concerned about washing their jets while out at sea. Totally different worlds (Air Force vs Navy).
For those of you that live in the USA or travel here, Washington DC is a great place to visit. When you visit the National Mall (it's a National Park area), you'll find tributes to famous Americans and wars Americans were involved in.
Here's a great shot of Major Nicole Malachowski, pilot of Thunderbird #3. She has the honor of being the first female Thunderbird pilot in their 52 year history. Not bad...

You have to love fighter pilot gear. The helmet, flightsuit, and gloves rock. I'd wear the same stuff flying Cessna 172's but it would be overkill. I guess the only way I could wear it would be to join the Civil Air Patrol.
It's been an amazing transformation from using unmanned aerial vehicles as observational drones to using them as killers drones.
Maybe you're like me, but when I see pictures of space I find myself in deep awe and wonder. And to think there are billions and billions of stars out there is just overwhelming.
Here's a B-52H model "Memphis Belle IV that was sitting on the ramp. I like nose art and always enjoy looking at the details of an aircraft upclose.
I'm not sure what version of C-130 this is, but there were a few at the Nellis AFB 2007 airshow.
The B-52 Bomber is always a star performer at airshows. You can see the huge plumes of black smoke miles away before it makes a pass and the anticipation is electric.
In contrast to other airshows, during the 2007 Nellis airshow the Thunderbirds flew before the modern military aircraft.
During the aircraft demo, the F-22 gave many opportunities to capture full afterburner maneuvers. In this shot the aircraft is performing a high-g turn right in front of the crowd.
During the Nellis 2007 airshow, the A-10 performed and I got a few great shots. Although everything the A-10 is low speed, here is a "low" speed pass with gear extended.
The airspace around Las Vegas is class B and is quite busy. The best news is that ATC routing took us over Nellis AFB, McCarran Airport, and then over the Las Vegas strip.

It's rare to see a flying F-4 Phantom these days. The aircraft have been retired and most are slated to become drones (sad ending indeed).
I'm back from my vacation in Las Vegas, NV., and I have a ton of great shots from the Nellis AFB airshow.
Here's a shot of one of my favorite planes. the engines are fixed high on the fuselage which is useful when the A-10 needs to land on forward air bases. Also the risk of FOD (Foreign Object Damage), caused by sand and stones, is reduced. This unusual engine setting gave the A-10 his "Warthog" nickname.

Here's a great front shot of the F/A-22 Raptor on the ramp at Nellis AFB. As you have seen in the airshow video, this is one amazing fighter jet without even discussing the stealth characteristics, passive radar, and avionics. Enjoy!
